colorado’s construction sector still struggling

When the housing market crashed, new building practically stopped in Colorado.


Unsurprisingly, Colorado’s construction businesses were heavily impacted. The response for many builders was to lay off workers.

With the economy perking up somewhat, the state has seen a recent uptick in housing starts, and some construction workers are once again finding employment.

But real recovery in new residential construction will probably require housing price recovery, and that remains elusive.
